North America Power Partners (NAPP) responded today to a notice dated February 25, 2011 from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (“FERC”). FERC Office of Enforcement staff made a preliminary determination that certain unauthorized activity of Joseph Polidoro violated the Commission’s Prohibition of Electric Energy Market Manipulation, 18 CFR § 1c.2 (2010). Prior to December 2008, when his employment was terminated, Mr. Polidoro was NAPP’s former Senior Vice President of Operations. Polidoro has not been involved in NAPP’s operations since that time. NAPP has cooperated fully with FERC enforcement staff since becoming aware of Mr. Polidoro’s unauthorized trading activities, In October 2010, NAPP agreed to disgorge all profits it received as a result of those activities.

President Laurie Wiegand - Jackson Presents at Hometown Connections Smart Grid Workshop
12/6/10 4:34 PM
Moorestown, New Jersey- North America Power Partner’s (NAPP) president, Laurie Wiegand-Jackson, recently spoke at the Hometown Connections Smart Grid Workshop- “An Update on Products and Applications for Public Power”- which was held at Glendale Water and Power. While at the event, Laurie discussed the importance of customer-centric Demand Response programs and how they can strongly contribute to energy efficiency and provide value to utility smart grid initiatives. NAPP’s customer-centric DR programs offer utilities an individual DR resource analysis and program plan, developed in conjunction with IRP and T&D strategies. By using demand response as a reliable resource, power companies can cut back on expensive resources, delay or offset new transmission and distribution upgrades, reduce the amount of peak hour energy demand, and improve its carbon footprint.
Read MoreMoorestown, NJ- Held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Globalcon 2010 provided a great opportunity for NAPP’s President, Laurie Wiegand-Jackson, to talk about the benefits of demand response. These benefits include reduced energy costs, increased potential energy efficiency, and environmental benefits. The event also provided a chance for NAPP’s customers, such as a NJ School District, to give testimonials based on their past experiences with NAPP’s Demand Response programs.

North America Power Partners (NAPP), a national Demand Response provider, reported a Demand Response resource delivery of 128%, exceeding its Megawatt commitment of electric load shed to the PJM Grid. This over performance was greater than PJM’s reported system average of 118%. Earlier this month, PJM announced the results of their Load Management Performance Reports that illustrated Demand Response programs overall delivered 118% of promised results.
Exceeding Demand Response performance is significant to the PJM grid as it ensures an adequate supply of power during periods of peak demand, high electricity prices, and other system needs. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) initially approved PJM Demand Response pilot programs in 2002. The FERC called such efforts “a highly useful and beneficial tool to reduce costs and maintain reliability during peak periods when generation supplies may be scarce.”
NAPP attributes its successful results to its advanced technical proficiency, highly effective asset management, consistent commitment to customer service, and high quality customer relations.
