North America Power Partners (NAPP), a national Demand Response provider, reported a Demand Response resource delivery of 128%, exceeding its Megawatt commitment of electric load shed to the PJM Grid.  This over performance was greater than PJM’s reported system average of 118%.  Earlier this month, PJM announced the results of their Load Management Performance Reports that illustrated Demand Response programs overall delivered 118% of promised results.

Exceeding Demand Response performance is significant to the PJM grid as it ensures an adequate supply of power during periods of peak demand, high electricity prices, and other system needs.  The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) initially approved PJM Demand Response pilot programs in 2002. The FERC called such efforts “a highly useful and beneficial tool to reduce costs and maintain reliability during peak periods when generation supplies may be scarce.”

NAPP attributes its successful results to its advanced technical proficiency, highly effective asset management, consistent commitment to customer service, and high quality customer relations.
