Governor Jon CorzineLaurie Wiegand-Jackson, president, North America Power Partners LLC (NAPP), was recently honored at the Executive Women of New Jersey’s (EWNJ) 2008 “Salute to the Policy Makers” Awards Dinner. This biennial event recognizes professional women of distinction throughout the state who are either members of boards of directors or senior executives at major New Jersey-based organizations and corporations.

With over twenty years of experience in the energy industry, Wiegand-Jackson has developed and fostered reliability, deregulation and competition strategies in United States energy markets. In addition to serving as president of NAPP, Wiegand-Jackson, a certified energy procurement professional, is also president of United Advantage, LLC, an independent energy service consulting company. NAPP is a leading demand response provider in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic, Midwest and Southern California regions.

Wiegand-Jackson is nationally recognized for her extensive knowledge of and expertise in wholesale and retail energy markets, energy procurement, rate analysis, demand side management and renewable energy project development. As a leading proponent of energy conservation and carbon reduction, Wiegand-Jackson was “green” before it was trendy and today is in the vanguard in helping private business as well as institutional and government sector clients implement successful utility management programs.

 Wiegand-Jackson earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from West Virginia University.

All proceeds from the “Salute to the Policy Makers” 2008 Awards Dinner fund EWNJ’s scholarship program, which since 1986 has provided over $875,000 in scholarships to more that 275 deserving New Jersey women enrolled in advanced degree programs at New Jersey institutions.
