

Laurie Wiegand-Jackson, President
Laurie Wiegand-Jackson is a successful entrepreneur with twenty five years of experience in the energy industry. She is the President and founding member of North America Power Partners. Laurie brings a broad range of national experience in wholesale and retail energy markets, demand response, utility rates and regulation, demand side management and renewable energy project development. She regularly speaks at industry and private and public sector programs on the importance of sound energy policy, energy management strategies and the benefits of energy programs. She has been recognized for her contributions to the energy industry, where she served as the President of the International Association of Energy Engineers in 2007. Laurie received the prestigious Distinguished Service Award from AEE and she was also honored in 2008 by the Executive Women of New Jersey as a leading Policy Maker.
Laurie is very active in promoting the professional advancement of women in the energy industry. She co-sponsored the development of the Council for Women in Energy and Environmental Leadership (CWEEL) and currently co-chairs the CWEEL Board of Directors.
Jaimee P. Gilmartin, Assistant to the President and Director of Corporate Communications
Jaimee Gilmartin provides critical support to the President and CEO and leadership of the management team as well as handling all aspects of NAPP’s corporate communications. Additionally she is responsible for broad divisional coordination of critical development activities, communications, operations, technology innovation, special projects and support. Jaimee comes to NAPP with over 20 years of experience in organization and communications management in federal, state, county and local government offices and agencies. Most recently, she served as Deputy CEO of the NJ Civil Service Commission and Director of Operations and Director of Appointments to the Governor of New Jersey. Previously, she served as the Director of Operations and Communications to the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI), the state regulatory agency for those industries. She has extensive knowledge of the legislative and political process.
Nimesh Shah, Vice President, Finance
Nimesh Shah (Nim) has over 15 years experience in the accounting and finance field. This includes over 10 years experience in the energy industry. He has been the Controller for two energy companies, as well as the Energy Accounting Manager for Starwood Hotels where he managed over $200 million in annual energy spend for owned and managed hotels. He has put together business plans to help raise capital for two start up companies as well as putting in place internal controls and being SOX compliant . Prior to joining NAPP Nim worked at Noveda Technologies a web based energy monitoring company. There he put together an Accounting Department as well as a business plan to help raise $5 million in investment capital. Nim Shah is a member of the AICPA.
James "Jay" Powick, Sr. Director of Operations
Jay has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry. This experience includes working with the regional transmission organization of PJM, working with various organizations such as Power Trading, Merchant Generation, Market Operations and Settlements, Customer Relations, Retail Customer Billing and Information Systems. Jay has led organizations through the deregulation of the electric industry into the new electric wholesale market environment. He has implemented new cost effective processes and models for the Power Trading, Market Operations, Market Settlements, and Customer Relations functions. With his knowledge of retail and wholesale billing, market operations, and metering, he has saved various organizations millions of dollars annually through process improvement, energy production contract management, and improved management of energy and ancillary product settlements.
David Cropper, Director of Sales and Business Development - Western Region
David Cropper came to Energy Services, Demand Response, and Smart Grid Market after 25 years in Information Technology. Starting in Field Services and Customer Service Management for companies such as StorageTek and Digital Equipment Corporation, David made the transition to Sales in 1990. Starting as a Sales Associate, David worked his way up to Sr. Account Manager on Major Accounts such as McDonnell Douglas, Rockwell and AirTouch (Verizon). David moved to Software Sales in the Business Intelligence space with Pilot Executive Software, and then into Application Development and Data Warehousing Software with companies such as Software AG and Centura Software.
David was responsible for Sales and Marketing for Consulting Services with BDO Seidman Business Technology Services, and eventually moved into Regional Sales Management at Remedy Corp. At Remedy, David started and managed an office with 13 employees and sales of $10M. In 2000, David was named US VP of Sales for Magic Software Corporation managing direct sales efforts in the US, Canada and Latin America with revenues of over $15M.
After Magic, David founded Preferred Sales Concepts, a Sales Outsourcing company. In 2008 David entered the “Green” Energy field by taking a Western Sales Rep. position with eps Corp. At eps David was responsible for acquiring existing co-generation facilities and for selling Energy Consulting services and projects such as Energy Efficiency, PV, DR, etc. After eps, David sold Wind Power projects for Foundation Wind Power before accepting the Director of Sales and Business Development with North America Power Partners LLC. In this position David is responsible for direct DR program sales in the Western Region as well as managing DR Consulting projects and developing new DR revenues with utilities and ISOs.
Michael Palumbo, Customer Service Manager
Mike is an experienced customer service professional offering over 20 years working for some leading organizations in dynamic industries. Mike spent a little over 12 years working for The Vanguard Group where he served in numerous roles all within the customer service area. He spent the last few years of his career at Vanguard as a Senior Manager leading 3 customer services centers located in the US serving Vanguard’s High Net Worth investor group.
Mike then moved into a role as a General Manager for Educational Testing Service where he was responsible for leading 3 major assessment programs and a workforce of approximately 400. Within the first year Mike was promoted to a Director of Customer Service Operations and led customer service, workforce management, and back office operations for ETS and a workforce of approximately 700.
After 4 years at ETS Mike then moved into a role as Director, Customer Response North America for Iron Mountain and led a 24/7/365 team located in the US and Canada supporting Iron Mountain’s 100k + customer base. Most recently Mike served in a role as Call Center/Inside Sales Director for The Rapid Learning Institute an emerging E-Learning Training and Development company. Mike also has done some consulting work utilizing his extensive customer service background to help organizations develop successful disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Jackie Huston, Director, DR Programs
Jackie Huston has 20 years of regulated utility industry experience which has ranged from utility financial analysis to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; and for the last three years has been director of ISO applications of NAPP. She has also handled the details and implementation of the NAPP demand response programs in all RTOs/ISOs. This experience serves well with the other NAPP members to provide a multi-disciplined and multi-talented team.
Shelly-Ann Maye, Manager, Compliance and Regulatory Risk
Shelly-Ann Maye has 10 years experience in the energy industry. She is responsible for NAPP’s business units, ensuring compliance with federal, regional, state and local regulatory and contractual requirements. Shelly is also responsible for the development of NAPP's Standard Operating Procedures, and Code of Ethics. Shelly has worked as a Senior Budget Analyst with Consolidated Edison Company of New York (Con Edison). She also worked in Con Edison’s Regulatory Services group, where she worked on FERC Compliance issues and Con Edison’s Rate Case filings. Shelly is active with the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the New York Women’s Bar Association.
